QA and Maintenance

At Promatics Quality Assurance is a continuous process for checking the conformance of the product/service requirements with the industry quality standards. It consists of a means of monitoring the processes and methods used to ensure quality. QA is vital to us as it strengthens customer confidence and improves our credibility. It assures improvement in quality related processes and increase in efficiency and quality of all products / services. Our emphasis of the QA process is on the product / service meeting the standard requirements and detecting if any product or service related defects occur before they get into the final stage.

Software QA & Maintenance

As a part of our QA process we develop a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP). The development of a quality assurance plan involves major stakeholders. This plan includes the following components:

  • A description of the system’s purpose, goals, and objectives
  • A description of the scope of services
  • A description of identified timeframes for completing tasks and a description of how activities will be evaluated

Once the QAP is developed it serves as a plan of action for operation of the quality assurance system. We ensure it is reviewed by key stakeholders on an ongoing basis for its continued effectiveness

QA Best Practices

At Promatics, we achieve Quality Maintenance by establishing conditions for ‘zero defects’. For us the core concept of Quality Maintenance is integrating and executing our quality practices, proven methodologies and frameworks to obtain focused Improvement, and zero defect products/services. Quality Maintenance is a continuous process and takes place through the planning, designing, development and testing phases, until a defect free product is produced. The key idea is to prevent defects at an early stage, rather than installing costly inspection systems to detect the defects after they have been produced.

Why Regular QA is required?

Regular Quality Assurance is an efficient, business centric methodology that focuses on preventing defects rather than removing them and it provides capabilities across 3 key areas:

  • Requirements: Understanding initial requirements clearly and avoiding the risk of poor business outcomes. We make sure to continuously align software delivery with business needs
  • Change: Controlling change increases the quality of outputs that need to be delivered on time. We perform continuous validation to efficiently deliver quality software.
  • Quality: Testing solutions that ensure quality is built in at each stage of the SDLC ensuring that tests are planned early and in synch with business goals. Using iterative approaches such as agile and appropriate processes, practices and tools.

Rather than controlling quality at the end of the SDLC after months or years of IT investments have elapsed, we perform regular QA activities to ensure building quality into the early stages of the SDLC. The result is applications meet business needs, at lower risks and costs. Regular Quality Assurance gives clear visibility and helps to stay in control in spite of large and complex changes.

How evolving standards day by day makes maintenance necessary?

In the current IT world, quality assurance needs to be addressed holistically and methodically. Most of assurance can be focused on improved software development practices through the SDLC.

Evolving standards make it necessary to meet statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product. We follow the “Eight quality management principles” defined in ISO 9000: 2005 QMS, for maintaining sustained success.

  • Customer Centric – Meet Customer requirements and exceed their expectations
  • Leadership – Lead the internal teams involved in achieving the set quality standards
  • People - Full involvement of peoples’ abilities to be used
  • Process – It is faster to achieve a desired result through a process oriented approach
  • System approach to management - identifying, understanding and managing interrelated processes as a system
  • Continual Improvement - A permanent objective to meet evolving needs through the SDLC
  • Factual approach to decision making – Based on analysis of data and information
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationships - An organization and its suppliers are interdependent and a mutually beneficial relationship enhances the ability of both to create value
