Watch Movement is an exclusive iPhone/iPad app for watch lovers. This app came into existence by its creators because they wanted to provide an efficient service to their fellow watch collectors so that they could view current watch trends and movements, share details about watches that they owned, exchange their ideas and views regarding watches, and build an online community amongst watch lovers.

Business Requirements

Need of an online app for watch lovers to know everything about watches and to cater to their requirements such as exploring watches, news feeds, searching watches, sharing on social media platforms, sharing likes and comments and viewing details of the watches such as Brand, Model, Year, description for sale or posting details of stolen/Lost watches.

Key Challenges

Need of an exclusive iPhone Watch app that empowered its users to keep themselves in touch with anything and everything related to their favourite watches at anytime and from anywhere.

A hassle free iPhone application which would provide multiple facilities to watch lovers such as reading latest news about their favourite watches, exploring watches, posting features for lost/stolen watches, searching watches based on Brand, Model, Year etc. and viewing details of available watches.

Solution

We developed an application that was specifically designed for the iPhone. The app offers the best watches available with their latest updates. The app has many rich features that users can avail at one single place in an organised manner.

Our technology stack comprised of Xcode, Web Services, Readability API, and SDKs.

Salient Features of our Solution:

News: The app has a nice feature that displays aggregated list of news from different news source websites on watches like hodinkee.

The watch lovers can watch news and can post comments on them and add likes for each news item. The users of the iPhone App can share news on social media websites via facebook, twitter, email or via messages

Explore: This feature allows the users to explore the watches, View images and details of watches such as Brand, Year and can share these details via social media such as facebook, twitter, email or via message
Notifications: There is a section for notifications to see latest activities performed on the app related to them.

Post My Watch: The users can post their watches from their own collection, they wish they want to sell or their watch been stolen. They can provide details such as Brand, Model, Year, Serial Number (that is optional), Pictures of the watch can be uploaded, with different views and with the description, Price and whether it is Lost or Stolen option
Search: The users can search for watches and explore watches listed in the app based on criteria such as All brand Names that are listed, All Models that are listed and All the Years that are listed in the app, there is an option to check mark if you want to search all those watches that are exclusively for Sale items.

Outcome

Now watch lovers need not go places to get their favourite watches and related news. They can easily view the news related to watches, explore, search and post their own watches for others to see via the exclusive Watch Movement App made for iPhones. The app requires iOS 8.1 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
